The Comedy Store, in London’s Soho neighborhood, was opened in 1979 and inspired by American comedy clubs. Performances at The Comedy Store include live stand-up comedy shows by comedians like Robin Williams, Clive Anderson, and Eddie Izzard on its stage.
In 1985, The Comedy Store announced the creation of its own improv comedy group, The Comedy Store Players. In 1990 the club formed the Cutting Edge team, a group that specializes in satirical comedy.
The Comedy Store is the first and only of its kind in England, consistently delivering laugh-out-loud performances seven nights a week. Three days a week the club hosts new comedic talent while the other four days are reserved for the veterans.
