Clapham, London –
Sophisticated, sexy, and sleek, Aquum is a modern bar, restaurant, and club whose elegant décor is the perfect blend of French boudoir and futuristic lounge, where stark white leather booths and bar stools, white walls, chiffon curtains, and mood lighting create an otherworldly ambiance.
Although the venue is quite compact, what it lacks in size it makes up for with a clever use of space and dazzling accents. The high-ceilinged main bar features a glitzy glass chandelier, oversized gilded mirrors, and a granite bar and backdrop with multicolored lighting.
Aquum also provides a second bar and dance floor downstairs as well as a VIP lounge in the mezzanine that overlooks the action below.
During the week, outside bistro tables offer an excellent perch for watching the evening unfold on Clapham North High Street. Weeknights draw a crowd of young professionals who show up to unwind over a few cocktails, while weekends bring in trendy, smartly-dressed locals who spend the evening vying for a spot on the dance floor.
Regardless of the night, however, Aquum is sure to deliver an upscale yet unpretentious evening of pleasant company and energetic dancing.
Attractive, well-dressed young professionals and local Clapham residents, early 20s to mid-30s.
DJs play commercial, funk, funky house, hip-hop, and R&B Fridays and Saturdays. Mellow chill-out music during the week.
Menu served daily includes salads, burgers, stews, steaks, seafood, and sharing platters.
Bar snacks £2.50–£9.50, appetizers £6, sharing platters £8.50+, entrées £7.50–£15, desserts £4.50. Beer £3.50+, wine £14.50+/bottle, cocktails £7.
Smart casual.
Fridays and Saturdays for a club vibe, week nights for a laid-back lounge vibe.
