Party Earth Vertigo 42 Review

The Scene

Vertigo 42 is a minimalist-chic champagne bar high above the City of London. Ride the elevator up to the start of a great London night with Party Earth.

Set at the pinnacle of Tower 42 – an enormous skyscraper that rises some six hundred feet above London – Vertigo 42 promises a champagne-fueled gala with panoramic views.

Once through the airport-style security at the building’s entrance and then up to the forty-second floor, reservation-wielding patrons are led around a mirrored pillar to one of the minimalist leather stools and sleek armchairs that account for most of the décor. The pillars reflect the natural light that streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which even on traditionally dreary English days provide sweeping vistas of the horizon.

Savvy tourists sip champers and turn their gazes southward to marvel at Tower Bridge, their eyes wandering further around the hexagonal corridors to take in landmarks from Big Ben to St Paul’s Cathedral, while magnums of bubbly help city traders celebrate business successes to the setting sun.

As night falls, London’s glittering lights become the focal point of conversation as friends dressed to the nines start the evening in style, indulging in lychee Bellinis and foie gras canapés. Young couples on dates looking for an alternative to the city’s meat market scene settle in to the intimate nooks, enveloped in their own world as the waiters discreetly top off their flutes.

Be it for a once in a life time celebration or a hard-to-impress date – or just to clink glasses of Veuve and admire London from above – Vertigo 42 takes everyone to new heights.
