Party Earth Two Floors Review

The Scene

Two Floors in London’s Soho is a modern lounge on one floor & a Tiki land below. Enjoy a little bit of it all in London with Party Earth.

Tucked behind the famed Liberty shopping center, Kingly Street can feel far removed from the bustling thoroughfare of Regent Street –the perfect setting to hide Two Floors, a bar with a distinctly split personality.

Though a chalkboard listing quirky messages (like “Soup of the day: Rum!”) is occasionally propped outside, the bar isn’t signposted, which might suggest an air of exclusivity if it weren’t for the band of tatted creative types, students, and casual young professionals inside.

As the name suggests, the venue encompasses two levels, with a modern lounge/café feel promoted on the ground floor by low tables, big leather couches, and two brick fireplaces set into the mostly barren green walls.

The tiny bar is bordered by menus touting Estrella on draft, a few craft beers, and a tidy selection of classic cocktails.

There’s a tiki drinks list, too, which makes sense once patrons descend to Handy Joe’s Tiki Lounge, where bamboo and beach scenes cover the walls, fishing nets hang from the ceiling, and moody red candles dot the second bar.

Midweek stays mostly chill, with patrons chatting and enjoying the boho-hipster vibe, though things pick up considerably on Saturdays when DJs get a dedicated dance scene going, especially upstairs.

Unless the venue has been booked for a private party, however, Two Floors guests can usually escape to Joe’s for a quieter vibe during the week, where they can catch up over beachy cocktails on even the coldest London night.

Tip from Jonah:

There are always photographs on display in Handy Joe’s Tiki Lounge, many of which depict really cool travel scenes. And they are all for sale, so it’s like going to a bar and an art gallery at the same time.

  • Crowd

Post-grads fresh off work, the hipster class, chilled-out urban professionals, area designers and other media types, savvy tourists, in-the-know area shoppers, mid- to late 20s.

  • Entertainment / Music

DJs play soul and funk on Saturdays from 8pm. Hawaiian soundtrack or indie-pop downstairs.

  • Food / Miscellaneous

Small patio in back shared with neighbors Shampers Wine Bar & Restaurant and Cinnamon Soho.

Patrons can reserve a table or the entire space downstairs for a private party.

  • Prices

    Beer £4–£6, wine £5.50–£8/glass or £15.50–£23.50/bottle, cocktails £7.50–£9.

  • What to Wear / Dress Code

Casual to hipster chic: big glasses, funky scarves, band t-shirts, vintage jackets, smattering of suits on the post-work crowd, frilly dresses, cute skirts.

  • Hot Nights / When to Go

Any early evening to chill downstairs with a Dark and Stormy and pretend London is several thousand miles away, or Saturday nights for the lively DJ scene.

  • Close By

Shampers Wine Bar & Restaurant (4 Kingly Street) is – as the name suggests – a cozy little wine bar and British tapas restaurant for those in need of something more substantial than bar snacks. It also shares the rear patio with Two Floors, making the trip from tapas to tiki a breeze.
