As the name implies, Roadhouse is a recreated highway truck stop whose bright neon sign adds unexpected flair to London’s historical Covent Garden square.
The rough roadside vibe is carried on inside, where the décor consists of a Mack truck crashing through one wall, a Harley Davidson on the bar, and road signs and trucker paraphernalia scattered throughout.
Dark and expansive, this basement space features a massive circular bar in the very center, surrounded by a stage, a dance floor, and cozy vinyl booths that accommodate those who want to take a break with a plate of fajitas.
The bar’s main attraction, however, is the roster of live bands that show up nightly to play classic tunes straight from the British and American songbooks, drawing a young, flirty, and uproarious crowd of international students and travelers who keep the vibe at Roadhouse outgoing and the dance floor rocking.
Mostly local university students and travelers, 20s to 30s.
Live music most nights includes American classics, easy listening, and Top 40 hits from the 1950s to the present. Live band karaoke Mondays and Wednesdays at 10pm. Gambling and arcade machines scattered throughout.
Bar menu includes fajitas, burgers, and sandwiches. Happy Hour M–F 5:30–7:30pm with two-for-one specials, and M–Th/Sa 9:30–10:30pm.
Cover charge £5–£12, free before 10pm/M–Th, 9pm/F, and 7pm/Sa. Menu £4–£11. Beer £3.50–£5, wine £3.60+, cocktails £6.25+.
Smart casual. Dress code: no football jerseys, no ripped jeans, clean/new sneakers only.
Mondays and Wednesdays for live band karaoke or Thursdays and Saturdays for great live music.
