San José, Ibiza –
Raco Verd (Green Corner) is an open-air bar and restaurant that’s been popular with an outgoing and welcoming crowd of locals for over fifty years.
A spacious flower-laden terrace provides a relaxing environment for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, while the tree-shaded inner courtyard has been transformed into a live music venue, a relatively new feature that has proven a hit with the regulars.
Although much of the courtyard has been given over to the stage and its tropical mural backdrop, there’s still plenty of room for the appreciative patrons and fans to enjoy the show from the haphazard collection of rustic tables or from the bar in the back.
Like the clientele, most of the performers are year-round residents, which makes for an authentic and unpretentious local experience that’s hard to find elsewhere on the island.
Friendly regulars, expats, island musicians, and a few travelers, 20s to 50s.
Live music performed by local and international bands featuring world music and dance on Tuesdays, rock and blues on Thursdays, acoustic on Fridays, and flamenco or Brasiliana/bossa nova on Saturdays 10pm–midnight. Free Wi-Fi.
Café serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mexican dishes, pizzas, tapas, and fresh juices.
Menu €5–€12. Beer €2.50, wine €3, mixed drinks €6, shots €2+.
Casual.
A good turnout is guaranteed any night there’s a live band, and even occasionally when there isn’t.
