Patrons looking for a dynamic bar scene will find it at The Lion’s Fountain, a lively venue that brews up some quality entertainment for its clientele of college students and English-speaking travelers.
Named for the lion-headed fountain built into the wall across from the bar, the pub features a typical Irish décor of green-shaded lamps and beer posters, as well as not-so-typical items like American college t-shirts almost completely covering much of the ceiling and walls filled with humorous doodles from patrons past.
The space is rounded out by a long bar, an open area with a TV tuned to sports, and a corner nook that provides seating for one lucky group at a time.
Naturally the collegiate décor brings with it an equally collegiate crowd that shows up to The Lion’s Fountain ready to take advantage of the affordable drinks, mingle with the lively patrons, and get a little rowdy.
American college students and English-speaking travelers, 19 to 25.
Guitar Hero contests on Wednesdays. Karaoke nights and occasional live music. TV tuned to sports including European football, rugby, and NFL football.
Continental breakfast. Sandwiches served day and night.
Bagels and muffins €2.50+, sandwiches €2.50–€4.50. Beer €5+, cocktails €6.50, shots €3.
Casual.
Monday nights for the drink specials (including “buy a beer, get a shot”) and Wednesdays for Guitar Hero nights.
