Santa Croce, Florence –
Located right in the heart of the Santa Croce neighborhood, Kikuya is the oldest English pub in Florence and, despite the typically Italian terracotta floors and stone ceiling, sports a decidedly English feel.
Clean and simple, the bar features English football banners on the walls, small wood tables and stools, and a selection of first-rate beers. A large bar dominates the front room, while a dimly-lit back room is home to small tables and benches with red velvet cushions that create a cozy, living-room atmosphere.
Popular with a welcoming and sociable crowd of young professionals and local students, Kikuya provides a homey environment perfect for a mellow night of conversation or – when there’s a good English football match to be had – a rousing night among the passionate fans.
And what’s more, Happy Hour doesn’t end until 10pm, which makes Kikuya a great place to enjoy an affordable night out or a few pints before heading to one of the nearby discos.
Laid-back young professionals and students, 20s and 30s.
Music is a mix of pop hits and oldies. TV tuned to football, rugby, and other sports.
Bar snacks and pub menu include sandwiches, soups, salads, hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries. Happy Hour M–F, Su 7–10pm (excluding holidays).
Pick up a frequent customer drink card and get it stamped with each purchase; after the purchase of twenty-eight drinks, card holders receive a free t-shirt.
Soups and salads €6, sandwiches €5. Beer €5+, cocktails €6, shots €3.
Casual.
Any night for Happy Hour or to watch a big game.
