In a city with a crazy amount of football (soccer) fans, it’s no surprise that there are some truly great Florence sports bars in which to enjoy the match and cheer with friends.
As in most European cities, the sports bars in Florence share a number of traits. First, they all have tons of TVs to watch any game or match any time. Second, there is usually great bar food. And third, there is always a boisterous crowd of impassioned sports lovers there to root on their favorite teams.
Sports bars can be found all over Florence but some of the best are in Santa Croce. Here, The Red Garter, The Lion’s Fountain, and Naima host locals, ex-pats, and students as they pray for that last second goal by local favorite ACF Fiorentina. Over in Santa Maria Novella, Fiddler’s Elbow is an Irish pub and sports bar that caters to English speakers and will keep its doors open incredibly late if there’s a major sporting event on anywhere else in the world.
Whichever team you’re rooting for in whichever country you’re from, there are sports bars in Florence that can cater to your needs. Just know that if Fiorentina is playing, don’t bother coming out unless you plan on joining the masses for some riotous fun.
