Chicago After Hours Overview

Benchmark - Bar | Beer Garden | Restaurant | Rooftop Bar in Chicago

Like many other cities, the majority of Chicago bars and restaurants are slaves to the age-old 2am closing time. However, there are still plenty of spots open until 4am or later where one can enjoy a late-night snack, bond over beers, or dance until the sun comes up.

One of the most frequented areas in the city for after hours entertainment is the Rush & Division corridor. Located in Chicago’s swanky Gold Coast neighborhood, Rush & Division is home to many favorite Chicago after hours haunts. The Hangge-Uppe offers up retro dance parties until 4am on weekends, while Butch McGuire’s and McFadden’s are perfect for downing too many beers and belting out ballads along with the jukebox until the sun rises.

Looking for a great dancing experience? Berlin nightclub is one of Chicago’s favorite after hours dance clubs. Located just south of the famed Boystown neighborhood, Berlin is the spot to be to dance the night away to Britney and Gaga and Beyoncé. And afterwards, Clark’s diner down the street offers 24-hour burgers, breakfast, and shakes.

And of course, no Chicago after hours experience would be complete without a visit to the Weiner Circle in Lincoln Park. Although not everyone is thrilled about getting screamed at by the staff while intoxicated, it is truly a Chicago after-hours institution and not to be missed.
