UIC Pavilion - Arena | Concert Venue in Chicago.

The UIC Pavilion is a multi-purpose arena built in 1982 and located in Chicago’s West Side on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.

The pavilion is used for concerts, sporting events, festivals, and other corporate and cultural events throughout the year. The UIC Flames men’s and women’s basketball teams play all their home games at the UIC Pavilion. The Pavilion was also the former home of the WNBA team, Chicago Sky, and housed the Chicago Storm Indoor Soccer League from 2004 to 2006.

As a concert venue, UIC Pavilion hosts a variety of shows of different genres and popularity. Smaller shows are at half-house capacity, which seats 5,878, while full-house shows at UIC Pavilion can seat over 10,000 and thus attracts big-name acts throughout the year.

Sporting events at UIC Pavilion generally seats around 7,000 guests. In addition to its college basketball teams, UIC Pavilion is home to the Windy City Rollers roller derby team, which attracts a sizeable crowd for their home games.

Great stadium for a variety of shows

UIC's Arena with seating for up to 9000, Home to UIC Flames Men's and Women's Basketball and hosting a wide variety of concerts, sports, and other major events. Many a historic evenings have taken place at this site including Phish's epic 1994 stops in June and November, a 3 night run in November 98 and just this past August a scorching (literally and figuratively) 3 night run that many argue are among the band's best in recent memory. A little overzealous security on the outside but once you're in the sound is stellar, the view good from anywhere, and it's pretty easy to get into and out of both pre and post show. I always enjoy taking in a show at the UIC Pav and would encourage everybody to see your favorite band at this spot if they are here.

My first experience with the UIC Pavilion was watching a Chicago Sky basket ball game. The venue can easily be transformed from a concert hall to a very nice put together basketball arena. The Pavilion is very well kept and the people are very nice and helpful. My next experience was going to a sold-out Plain White T's, Jacks Mannequin, and Panic! At the Disco concert. The Pavilion can hold quite a lot of people, not as much as the United Center or Allstate, but the atmosphere is contagious! We had Backstage/VIP tickets so we were in a special section, but all of the concert attendants were nothing but helpful. A few of the security guards weren't very welcoming, but that is to be expected. The UIC Pavilion is definitely going to be a place I will go visit again. Its a kind of far from downtown, but its an easy train ride down!
