Tuman’s Tavern is a dusky neighborhood joint where amiable after-work regulars, hipsters, and sports fans alike gather for a few low-key pints.
Swinging mahogany doors right out of the Old West lead to a softly-lit room, whose embossed burgundy walls, stained glass lamps, and flickering TVs create a hushed saloon environment perfect for the welcoming mix of patrons watching sports or chatting quietly.
An open area near the back with black leather couches and rustic tables draws groups of friends looking to dig into short ribs, or chill out with one of its many brews under the ironic glow of a glass sign reading “Tuman’s Alcohol Abuse Center.”
Two arcade machines, several booths, and a second drinking den fill out the rest of the space, or guests can wander out to the gated patio, a popular destination for weekend brunch.
A neighborhood bar with a long history, Tuman’s has a laid-back atmosphere that makes it the ideal place for patrons who prefer to eat, drink, and watch sports without the usual rowdiness that is often a staple of popular neighborhood bars.
A laid-back mix of casual hipsters, sports fans, young professionals, and grad students, late 20s to late 40s.
Three TVs tuned to sports. Two arcade machines. Playlist of 80s and 90s rock hits, usually turned off for big games.
Full bar menu with salads, burgers, and sandwiches served after 5pm. Cash only. ATM on site.
Appetizers $7–$10, salads $8–$12, sandwiches and burgers $6–$11, entrées $11. Beer $2.50–$6, wine $6–$10, cocktails $6–$10, shots $5–$8.
Casual: sandals, ripped jeans, sports jerseys, button-downs, hoodies, graphic t-shirts.
