Clubs in Lincoln Park Overview

Café Ba-Ba-Reeba - Spanish Restaurant | Tapas Bar in Lincoln Park, Chicago

The pretty people of Lincoln Park regularly head to the velvet-rope lines of River North, but when they want to get their dance on within stumbling distance of their apartments, a number of Lincoln Park clubs offer similar beats but far less attitude.

Clubs in Lincoln Park are not guest-list affairs with unattainable VIP sections. They resemble the bars next door to them, but dance floors and DJs ensure bumping and grinding revelers. DePaul students and those recently out of college have long swarmed to late-night clubs like The Beaumont after most bars close up shop. In the early evening, The Beaumont looks like a small, nondescript bar, but at 11pm on weekends, the staff throws open the doors to the dance floor, making room for the tidal waves of twenty-somethings about to flood in. The music here isn’t for the house aficionado; these are Top 40, hip-hop, and 80s tunes that encourage drunken sing-alongs. As the bar closes up at 4am, 5 on Saturdays, club-goers stumble into the rising sun, perhaps with a new friend in tow.

Those not in the frat-house set also have club options in Lincoln Park. Punks and hipsters have joints like Liar’s Club, where $2 PBRs pair well with up-and-coming bands and regular weekend DJs who pump out punk favorites with a little hip-hop and dance mixed in. The regulars here probably don’t cross paths with the college kids at The Beaumont, but they share a love of loud music and late-night dancing.
