Party Earth Review Irish bars are hardly a rarity in Chicago, but Corcoran’s Grill & Pub avoids cookie-cutter stereotypes with lots of outdoor seating and a crowd that’s as much burgeoning funnymen as Boddingtons-seeking boozers, thanks to its proximity to Second City. The venue truly shines in summer, with its sidewalk terrace in front ... more

Party Earth Review Part upscale bar, part restaurant, part club, and part bountiful beer garden, Zella is either the greatest thing since sliced bread or is suffering from multiple-personality disorder – either way, patrons come in droves to drink, flirt, and drink some more. Home to the well-to-do and good-looking, Lincoln Park is a brunch mecca. As the stroller set finishes up their early morning meals, a line of hungover young professionals starts lining up for their tables…or, noonish, 1pm, whenever they wake up. Brunch in Lincoln Park isn’t a greasy-spoon event. Popular spots are shiny and pretty, with sparkling cocktails to pair with veggie-heavy scrambles.
Most neighborhood pubs offer brunch, often to the same people who closed them down a few hours earlier. The Galway Arms, Goose Island, Corcoran’s Grill & Pub…if the place serves pub grub at other hours, chances are good that they can make some mean French toast on Sunday mornings. For the really morning-challenged, the pubs seem to battle each other for best Bloody Mary. Sunday mornings in the fall have the extra attraction of TV-side Bears seats, and most pubs shoehorn in sidewalk seating or back patios for warm weather brunching.
Lincoln Park brunch can be upscale as well. Clubby restaurant Zella is perhaps most popular during summer mornings. In the back of the restaurant, several double doors open to a sprawling patio that beckons to stylish sunshine lovers with its shaded canopies and ornate wrought-iron furniture. An outside bar works hard to keep up with the demand for shots, pitchers, and all-you-can-drink weekend brunch specials. Yes, all-you-can-drink. Some Lincoln Parkers want to get their day drinking on, and brunch is the perfect starting line.
