Rhinofest Description

Rhinofest - Theatre Festival in Chicago.

First established in 1989, the Rhinoceros Theater Festival is the longest running fringe festival in Chicago. The event lasts for a month between January and February, with performances held Thursday’s through Monday’s at the Prop Theatre, a non-equity playhouse with an affinity for original material and fresh literary adaptations of the classics.

The fringe fest features local theater groups as well as national artists who exhibit plays, solo performances, live music, and experimental arts. The shows attract thousands of attendees each year looking for alternative entertainment in the city. Tickets for Rhinofest are $12 in advance online and $15 at the door, but the festival also incorporates a “pay what you can” policy for all the starving artists who still want to show their support.
