St. Patrick’s Day is a big deal in Chicago. Come July, Irish-Americans and partiers in Chicago looking to recapture some of the March magic head to the eclectic and electric Irish American Heritage Festival.
The 2013 Irish American Heritage Festival boasts traditional Irish food, drink, and live music. The fest features more than 100 performers, who hit five stages during the span of three days. Additionally, the Irish American Heritage Festival hosts step dancing, a raffle, a mashed potato eating contest, arts & crafts booths, poetry readings, one-act plays, art, and language lessons, among many other activities. There’s something for every Irish American Heritage Festival guest, whether she is looking to catch a nice buzz or learn more about Emerald Isle culture, or both.
Irish American Heritage Festival 2013 tickets cost $8 for adults ($15 at the door), $7 for seniors. Children 12 and under are free.
