Situated inside the massive 88,000-square-foot Flat Iron Arts Building, Debonair Social Club features a roster of rotating theme nights and performances that aim to blend art, music, and fashion.
Splashed in hot pink and electric blue lights, along with dizzying black and white stripes painted on most of the walls, the club draws a rambunctious crowd of rockers and ravers for DJs, live music, video art installations, and a very popular burlesque show.
Tattooed head-bangers and hipsters cheering to a favorite song and munching on pizza crowd around the ample bar that splits the main room, while trendy singles toast to a night of mayhem as projected video art washes over their roomy black vinyl booths.
Most of the action takes place around the modest stage that might feature bands like Disturbed and My Chemical Romance one night and then be transformed into a 60s motel room for the burlesque show the next night.
Weekends see the dark and spacious red basement open up to provide unrestricted dance space, where attractive hipsters and clubbers groove to a DJ before heading to the bar for a round of shots.
Upstairs or down, an energetic vibe and outgoing crowd ensure that a night at Debonair will definitely be a memorable social experience.
Chic hipsters, new age goths, lively rockers and punks, trendy college kids, artists, and grad students, early 20s to 40+.
