While Gillette Stadium in Foxborough is primarily known as the home of the New England Patriots, the venue actually hosts many other events – sports-related and otherwise. The 68,756-seat venue opened its doors in 2002, after two years of construction. In addition to the Pats, it is also the home turf of the New England Revolution and the University of Massachusetts football team. Concerts at Gillette Stadium have included everyone from the Rolling Stones and U2 to Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift. Concession stands sprinkled throughout the stadium make sure that guests have a hot dog and a Sam Adams in hand at all times. The massive parking lot has plenty of space, but the MBTA also offers “Football Trains” departing from South Station in Boston and Providence Station in Providence, RI that take fans directly to the stadium for a measly $15 round trip. To buff up on Patriots history, check out the Hall at the Patriot Place, which houses Pats memorabilia and the team’s three Lombardi trophies. For life-long fans and tykes alike, a game at Gillette is a thrilling experience.
