Lounges in the South End Overview

South End lounges never fail to impress, whether it's by unveiling new and exciting innovations, or staying strong with solid, time-tested favorites.

An example of the new wave of South End lounges is 28 Degrees, which reflects the general atmosphere of the area by combining elements of excellent cuisine, creative cocktails, and lively music to appeal to the 20- and 30-something professionals, and LGBT regulars, who frequent the venue.

At The Red Fez there are roomy booths, round couches, and plenty of tables were folks can sit, sip, and listen to live music. First opening in 1940, and then reopening in 2002, The Red Fez’s cuisine is not as innovative as newer lounge spots, but its ambiance is superb with dimly-lit lanterns hanging from the ceiling and an exposed brick-wall interior. The joint also features something that's pretty hard to come by in Boston – free on-site parking!
