Party Earth Review Descending into The Lower Depths generally isn’t a good thing, unless, of course, it’s referring to Boston’s funky craft beer bar. Located a few blocks from Fenway, the venue surges with Sox fans two hours before and after games, but the regular crowd is composed of hipsters, artists, and free thinkers who congregate beneath ... more

Party Earth Review Boasting over fifty handcrafted ales, lagers, pilsners, and stouts, Fenway-based Boston Beer Works keeps a steady flow of Red Sox and craft beer fans on tap. During baseball season, the conveniently located venue hosts rowdy hordes of jerseyed pilsner pounders who gather in the Dugout, the smaller bar and dining area, or ... more

Party Earth Review So close to Fenway that cheers echo on its outdoor patio, Cask’n Flagon leads a double life as rowdy sports bar for red- and blue-clad regulars on game nights and sloshy dance club on weekends. For those not lucky enough to score tickets, the venue features an impressive number of flat-screen TVs over the bar and sprinkled ... more

Party Earth Review Steps from Fenway Park, Tasty Burger provides refuge for that rare breed of hipsters who like sports – even though they’ll probably never admit it – as well as anyone in need of classic greasy grub and a few cans of cold beer. The cinderblock walls and jumbo sliding doors hark back to the restaurant’s former days as a gas ... more

No longer the stagnant, fast-food and questionable hot dog vendor driven food scene it used to be, the Fenway and Kenmore restaurant scene has blossomed in recent years, with the razing of older buildings and the new development of formerly vacant lots.
Celebrity chef Tiffany Faison, of “Top Chef Masters” fame, chose this neighborhood to be the location of her very first restaurant. The BBQ spot, called Sweet Cheeks, features tables fashioned from old church doors and bowling alley lanes, sweet tea served in recycled Mason jars, and of course, every kind of tender-roasted hunk of meat, alongside a generous selection of brewery libations.
Church, which is part restaurant, part music venue, also relies on a well-thought-out list of libations, serving up a now-legendary “Seven Deadly Sins” cocktail menu that would have even the most devout on their knees begging forgiveness.
Many of the older spots in this neighborhood are bars and clubs that also serve food to satisfy the Red Sox crowd that often pervades the area. Places like Boston Beer Works, Game On!, and the Cask 'n Flagon bank heavily on their proximity to Fenway Park, making them a convenient place to grab a bite before or after the game, but not necessarily being on the forefront of culinary innovations.
In Kenmore Square, Eastern Standard, The Hawthorne, and Island Creek Oyster Bar are the most significant of the higher-end fare, as the area does have a good smattering of fast-food establishments in the area as well.
