Party Earth Review With a state-of-the-art sound system, scintillating go-go dancers, and a striking clientele, Underbar promises a party that only gets better as the night wears on. Lounges in Chinatown / Leather District Overview

Wilbur Theatre - Comedy Club | Concert Venue | Music Venue | Theater in Chinatown / Leather District, Boston

Part of the former “Combat Zone” area in Boston that was infamous for rampant prostitution and crime during the 60s and 70s, and now inhabited by large populations of Chinese and Vietnamese immigrants, Chinatown is mostly known for its cadre of inexpensive eateries that remain open until the later hours. Among these night-time spots are a number of lounges that manage to attract a rather fashionable set, despite not being considered one of the swankier sections of the city.

Named for the location of numerous 19th- and 20th-century garment and leather manufacturing plants, Boston's Leather District remained quiet for many years, but has only recently begun to draw attention for the newer restaurants popping up and innovative luxury residences going on the market. The lounges here are both sleek and high-priced, offering up finely made cocktails in ultra-modern settings in hopes of attracting high-paying patrons from the nearby Financial District. Lesser-known than the more touristy areas like Back Bay and Quincy Market, it's not unusual for celebrities to pop up in these spots when they are in town to shoot a movie or TV show. The folks who flock to these lounges are well-dressed, affluent customers who are used to getting bottle service.
