For five days in February, young aspiring dancers from all over Germany compete at the annual Tanzolymp International Tanzfestival Berlin. Held at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, the Tanzolymp International Tanzfestival Berlin follows the motto of “Dance as a global language” with competition categories like Classical, Folk, Modern, Jazz, Pop, and Tap Dance.
Winners of the Tanzolymp International Tanzfestival Berlin are showcased at the Final Gala Evening, receive scholarships to dance schools, and have the chance to perform in a touring dance production alongside seasoned professionals. Past winners of the Tanzolymp International Tanzfestival Berlin include the IOA Dance troupe, Han Tae Jun, Max Simoes, and Kateryna Kistol.
In addition to the competition, the Tanzolymp International Tanzfestival Berlin also features dance workshops by legends like Gisela Rocha and Rafael Zago. After seeing future stars in action, try your own moves at the nightclubs nearby in Berlin.
