Paul van Dyk was born in 1971 as Matthias Paul in Eisenhüttenstadt, East Germany. This EDM artist, DJ, and producer is one of the biggest dance stars in the world and helped popularize trance as a global genre. In 2004, Paul van Dyk was one the first electronic artists to be nominated for the Grammy Award of Best Dance/Electronic Album for his influential record Reflections. And in 2011, the EDM star was recognized for his successful career with the title of Longest Running DJ In Top 10 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs.
Starting in 1993, Paul van Dyk began to make buzz among ravers with hit remixes and singles like “For an Angel” and “Love Stimulation”. Through the years, the DJ has made millions of fans around the world, being named World’s No. 1 DJ twice and becoming the first DJ in history to top Mixmag’s list in 2005.
