Party Earth A'roGueira Review

The Scene

A’roGueira in Barcelona’s Poblenou is an über-mod hotspot with Galician cuisine & a huge variety of gin. Join the trendy set in Barcelona with Party Earth.

Even along the dark and winding streets of Poblenou, it would be hard to miss A’roGueira, an über-mod hotspot known both for its gin and its clever takes on traditional Galician cuisine.

Galicia is a small autonomous community on the northwestern tip of Spain – the venue gets its name from a lush forest there – but with a stark metallic décor and blue and silver dots adorning the walls, the place feels more like George Jetson’s living room than a natural retreat.

Although there is a menu of traditional tapas, most of the stylish regulars come for harder-to-find eats like shellfish stew, squid paella, and savory bits of octopus.

Soft purple and pink lights illuminate the bar, where suited businessmen savor the popular gin and tonic made with one of over eighty available varieties of gin, as a cava chiller emits a frosty steam that only adds to the futuristic theme.

The popularity of the food is evident in both the lunch and dinner crowds, when even a few casual backpackers might pop in thanks to regular €12 meal promotions. Late Friday and Saturday nights, however, are a more fashionable affair, when music gets turned up and stylish groups drop in to savor straight gin or one of several premium cocktails garnished with fresh fruit.

Perfect for adventurous eaters and choosey drinkers, A’roGueira leaves all its guests happy, grinning, and gin-ing.

This is a wonderful place to host a private party. The staff is flexible and will work with you to create a unique experience. One time, they surprised a birthday girl by connecting her with her family in Argentina by accessing Skype through their wide-screen TV!
