Good for Groups in La Ribera / El Born Overview

Palau de la Musica Catalana - Concert Venue in La Ribera / El Born, Barcelona

The area that makes up La Ribera and El Born is one of the most historic in Barcelona. Today these dynamic neighborhoods are popular for their hip bar scene, famous museums, and numerous sightseeing opportunities. La Ribera and El Born are two neighborhoods with a ton of choices for travelers and are good places to visit for groups.

There are two museums that are within a stone’s throw of each other in El Born that warrant a visit. The first one is the Picasso Museum, which has tons of work from the famous Spanish artist and is located just off of Carrer de la Princesa. On the other side of Princesa is the tantalizingly unique chocolate museum, which is a big attraction for families; especially those with younger children. Either way, both of these museums make for great group outings in El Born.

Further down the road in La Ribera is Barcelona’s own Arc de Triomf. This archway is located at the end of a promenade that is populated by dog walkers, bikers, rollerbladers, and skateboarders who are all out daily enjoying the sun. Just below that area is Parc Ciutadella, which outside of Parc Güell is the most famous and most visited park in Barcelona. With large expanses of grass, enormous fountains, row boats for rent, and even Barcelona’s zoo, it is tough to beat Parc Ciutadella for group activities in Barcelona.
