Restaurants in El Raval Overview

Manchester Raval - Bar in El Raval, Barcelona

El Raval is known as having one of the highest immigrant populations in Barcelona. While some people may feel this detracts from its authentic Spanish feel, an argument could be made that it benefits from the hodgepodge of culture in the form of food. Although authentic Spanish cuisine is easily found throughout El Raval’s winding streets, it’s the Mediterranean fusion, Asian, Caribbean, and Hispanic food that sets this up and coming neighborhood’s restaurants apart from other areas of Barcelona.

For fresh and local cuisine, the trendy and almost upscale Dostrece is El Raval’s best option. Boasting food bought daily from its famous neighbor La Boqueria market, Dostrece is one of the most popular food spots in the area.

For food with a bit more spice, Rosa del Raval is the place to go for Mexican. The sister restaurant of Rosa Negra, this hot spot is located nearby the MACBA and is popular with a young and lively crowd and with mojitos and margaritas for 3.50, it’s easy to see why. For traditional tastes a bit further south, Muy Buenas offers South-American and Cuban bites and plenty of cocktails to wash them down.

If the always popular comfort food of a burger and a beer is too much to pass up then head to Betty Ford’s to enjoy delicious burgers, local and foreign beers, classic movies, and a young and hungry crowd.
