Party Earth Sotavento Review

A swanky Italian restaurant by day, the venue transitions to club mode around midnight when the ample polished walnut dance floor is overtaken by dashing young men and chic women who are all about rocking to the deep tribal house sounds reverberating from the speakers.

Hopeful patrons who make it past the stringent screening at the door will find themselves descending a sweeping white staircase into the nightlife paradise within. The immaculate décor is just as heavenly as the fashionable clientele, with an emphasis on curving white banquettes and vintage chairs, all softly lit in blue and green by enormous chic-industrial lamps that hang low from the ceiling.

Costumed dancers, live singers, tumbling confetti, and swiveling disco lights further contribute to the decadent party vibe, while a massive beach terrace provides a soothing escape where guests can linger over a vodka on ice and a cool sea breeze.

Sotavento’s calendar can vary week-by-week, so would-be patrons will want to check the official website before dolling up and heading down to this slice of Olimpic paradise.

Great place, Good Vibe, and the beach footsteps away
Karla K. Dec 21, 2012
We were recommended this club, it was exciting because it seemed so close to the beach on the map we saw, when we first got there was a huge line, and a small cube which we were a bit skeptical about, not knowing it were stairs to where the club that is. it was decently crowded when we first arrived, which was nice. The DJ played good remixes and there was a handsome crowd, only making our night more enjoyable! It does have an upscale feeling, but we felt welcome and there were locals and tourists making it easy to get along with most people, when we left we walked to the beach which was literally footsteps away, the breeze felt really nice and it made it one of our best nights in Barcelona!
Upscale, sexy, and unforgettable!

Sotavento is one of the more upscale beach clubs in the Port Olimpic area, and it doesn't fail to give local and international club-goers alike what they look for in a swanky club: gorgeous people, flashy lights, and great music. Upon entering the club, you are immediately greeted by a glass staircase and huge center piece, telling anybody who gets past the door that he or she is in for a night to remember. Dress well and look good because on a Saturday night, the place gets flooded around 1, and the line gets long! Add yourself onto the online guestlist via www.youbarcelona.com to get in for free before 1:30 on some nights, or be on the lookout for club representatives around the city giving out passes. We bought passes for 15 euros (which is how much the cover charge was that night) which included entry to Sotavento, 2 drinks, and entry to the nearby club Opium after 3:30, which was totally a great grab for a great time.
