Feb 1, 2013 — Super Bowl XLVII marks the first time that two brothers have coached against each other in the NFL’s championship game. The odds of even becoming an NFL coach are ridiculously low, so it’s easy to imagine that Jim and John Harbaugh’s parents never thought they would have to play the role of neutral fans when one of their sons led his team to the Super Bowl.
Unlike Mr. and Mrs. Harbaugh, you either have one horse in the race – more accurately either fifty-three 49ers or Ravens – or you’re like most of the nation and can hope for a great game as you watch the drama unfold at one of the many amazing parties across America.
Both the greater Washington, DC area and San Francisco will be throwing some of the best bashes for their respective teams, but cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles will be getting in on the fun too with parties featuring buffets, drink specials, live musical performances, and raffles.
The only two people with an excuse to miss any of these exciting American parties are the ones who gave birth and raised the game’s two coaches; everyone else should put on his or her team’s favorite jersey, head to the nearest Super Bowl jubilee, and sit back and enjoy history.
