If i have a little more to spend than usual? than NJOY would be my starting point of the night. If its just having drinks with friends, or a date and you are looking for a place which is worth the money than NJOY is a great place. Located in the bar/restaurant street of leidseplein, the moment you walk in you are greeted by the hostess and shown a table where they will offer you some of the best cocktails in town. With hip trendy music, great staff and luxurious but still warm/home like feeling as an interieur it sets a great ambiance for any kind of night.

My Take: For the best cocktails in Amsterdam, head over to NJOY. It’s located on a long street close to the tourist area Leidseplein. A local’s secret, NJOY‘s quiet and dull exterior is very easy to miss on the street crowded with tourist-trap bars and restaurants. Inside the bar is ultra-hip and sophisticated, from the warm and friendly waitress who takes your coats at the door to the very modern and luxurious décor. The bar is intimate and has 2 rooms on 2 floors, each room has its own bar manned by a very capable barman. The furnishing in the basement is exquisite with chic comfortable sofas for guests to relax and NJOY what the bar has to offer! The Scene: Early in the evening locals catch up over a cocktail or two. The bar is ideal for a ladies night to trade gossip and secrets with your girls. It’s great for dates too for the guy that wants to impress his lady. Later on in the evening the bar fills up and it becomes more of a standing bar with all the seats occupied. On weekends the DJ comes in to keep the crowd entertained. Cocktails and cuisine: The barmen at NJOY know what they’re doing! They mix one delicious cocktail after the other all night long. Their cocktails are made with the fresh fruits on display on the bar counter. The cocktail menu is organised by personalities. There are 6 personalities; The Alchemist, The Trendsetter, The dreamer, The Connoisseur, The Sparkling Star and The Virgin. Each personality has drinks that match it with crazy names like; Italian black stallion, Porn star passion, Secret stimulator, The passionate Mexican and Lady killer! Prices: Not the cheapest cocktails in town, but worth every penny. Cocktails: 11.50€-15€ Bar bites/platters: 7.50€-12.50€ What to wear: Dress to impress! Smart casual, chic, trendy, no sportswear.
