Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium (College Park, MD) Stadium

Despite Capital One’s naming rights, the University of Maryland football stadium is usually referred to simply as Byrd Stadium. The stadium was built in 1950, though many additions since have changed the venue considerably and have raised its capacity to 54,000. The expansions over the years have included a towering upper deck on one sideline, and Tyser Tower, which houses press and luxury boxes, on the other. Located in College Park, Maryland, the stadium features views of DC landmarks such as the Washington Monument and U.S. Capitol on clear days.

The University of Maryland Terrapin football and lacrosse teams take the field for ACC games at Capital One Field. Packed football games are not unusual nationally, but at U of Maryland, lacrosse pulls in big crowds as well. Single-game football tickets at Capital One Field range in price from $25–$55. Concessions are available on all three levels of the stadium. Alcohol at Capital One Field is prohibited, though it may be served to some groups in luxury suites.
