Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team that plays games at Nationals Park in Southeast, Washington, DC. The stadium’s construction was completed in 2008 and has a seating capacity of 41,487. The nation’s capital actually has a long baseball history, but after the Washington Senators relocated, no baseball was played in DC from 1972 until 2005 when the Montreal Expos moved to the city and were renamed the Nationals. Nationals games immediately became a fixture on the DC athletics scene as the city was clearly starved from their long MLB hiatus. With only a few short years under their belts, the team’s success has been limited, though notable players like Ryan Zimmerman, Adam LaRoche, and Ian Desmond have given the city hope for a Pennant and possible World Series run. Nationals' tickets can be purchased at the park, but because of the team’s relatively new sheen, games are still popular and great seats can be tough to find.

I'm still bummed they benched Strasburg and he can't go in the playoffs. But with rookie phenom Bryce Harper in center and Gio Gonzalez on the mound, I think this team can do some damage in the playoffs.

Congratulations to the Washington Nationals for finishing with the best regular season record this year. I don't think anybody in the DC area expected this a few years ago. Davey Johnson has done an incredible job with the Washington Nationals. However, without Stephen Strasburg, I don't think that they are going too far in the playoffs this year. The Washington Nationals have a bright future but this won't be their year.

The Nationals have a chance to finish the year with the best record in the league? WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT?! Even though the Nationals shut down Stephen Strasburg for the year, don't count them out. They have a deep rotation and what could be a favorable road to the NLCS. If the bats stay hot and Bryce Harper returns to his pre-All Star break form, don't be surprised if you see them in the World Series. They certainly have the potential for being a great team for years to come.
