The Fillmore Silver Spring (Silver Spring, MD) Information

Since 1968, the original Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco has been known for staging legendary shows, including concerts by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and the Grateful Dead. Similarly, the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, is a music and entertainment venue that hosts a diverse range of artists. It veers away from the psychedelic vibe of the original, filling its schedule with everything from hip-hop to 80s reunion bands.

With a capacity of 2,000, the Fillmore Silver Spring has a few trippy, colorful designs, but it’s mostly a modern, sleek space. A small balcony with limited table seating overlooks the main floor, and both levels have full bars. Though all sightlines in the small but airy theater are great, flat-screen TVs along the walls ensure views of performances.

Shows at the Fillmore Silver Spring include many punk shows, in addition to big names in hip-hop such as Black Star, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli. Ticketing is handled through Live Nation or the venue’s box office. The Fillmore Silver Spring does not have its own parking, but public lots and garages are nearby.

Amazing Venue
Connie C. Jul 2, 2013
Since the opening of these Venue, I've been there a couple of time, and every time I come out extremely amazing by the staff and the environment of these venue. The Building outside is very great. I walk by it and I feel like I am in the 1960s, a modern version of course. The Staff, are great. The Area in which the venue was built is just great. There is just alot you can do after or before a attending a show. This is a awesome Venue that I do recommend for people to check out.
Major Artists in a Local intimate setting. Perfection.

I love concert venues that are intimate and The Fillmore has the secret. You get to see major artists on a local scale. Its the best. To feel like you could yell out your favorite artists name, and he might actually be able to make out what you're saying, and if you're super lucky, he would respond. Epic place to take someone for their first concert experience. They'll never be able to do impersonal major venues again. The drinks were good and the elevator had this cool ass paparazzi mural thing goin on inside of it and it makes you feel like a celebrity. Great photo opp. (Sorry Darling, no pictures) Good times.
Intimate Show feel

I went to see Flogging Molly at The Fillmore, as I was lucky enough to score tickets, and have to say I had a blast. We stayed on the main floor, towards the back, and were still able to see the entire stage. It didn't feel claustrophobic or like back of the room was shunted away from all of the good views, which I appreciated. The bar was going all night long and the venue was easy enough to navigate with a bar downstairs for the people who were a bit burned out of the hubub upstairs. Great selection of bands in the area at any time, though the parking can be a bit of a pain being in the heart of Silver Spring. I suggest carpooling or taking the Metro.
"Turn Up" at the Fillmore

Going to school in Washington D.C has been quiet an experience! Especially being able to see the various beautiful part of the district as well as Maryland and Virginia. It's nice how the best parts of the DMV (D.C, Maryland, Virginia) are all metro accessible. One of the places that have stuck out to me the most is the Fillmore in Silver Spring, it has a really nice venue. Also it's located in a nice part of Silver Springs, and I would recommend going there for a concert. The Fillmore has a nice balcony area that gives people a better feel of comfort. However, the standing room is nice for when you'd like to be up closer to see and artist perform. The surround sound makes you more exuberant and cause you to have a great time. Overall, you'll have a great time!
Feel Good Fun at The Fillmore

The best thing about the DMV area is that one is able to visit D.C., Maryland, and Virginia within a matter of miles. This place was great! A multi-level venue to house some of your favorites in the entertainment industry. Safety is never an issue, there is venue security in addition to local law enforcement to ensure safety. The surrounding area is a compilation of eats and shopping, and most importantly, a parking garage. Once inside, there is a small coat check (optional) and stairs that lead up to the upper levels. This is a standing venue, especially on the main floor. Once you make your way up, there are intimate VIP sections on the balcony, as well as a concrete, amphitheater style of seating so patrons have the ability to sit or stand during the show. I recommend standing, because mostly everyone is up on their feet having a good-time. I will also inform you that this is a smoking venue, by regulation or by desires of the patrons. Nonetheless, a cool place for a good time!
