Concerts at Sonar range from local up-and-coming bands to big name national bands. Within Sonar is the Talking Head Club, a name given to one of Sonar's three rooms. The Talking Head Club offers a more intimate venue within this medium-sized music venue.

Concerts at Sonar are a favorite activity for Baltimore locals, and past performers at Sonar include GWAR, Alkaline Trio, and Electric Six. The TAX LO Friday Night Dance Party and various festivals are also held at Sonar. On nights when there are no concerts scheduled, there are DJs at Sonar spinning for crowds who enjoy house music in an interesting setting.
