The African American Festival Description

The African American Festival - Cultural Festival in Washington, DC.

The African American Festival in Baltimore, MD, celebrates African American life, music, and culture over two days every July. Taking place about 40 miles northeast of Washington, D.C., the family-oriented event features artists and entertainers, children’s activities, arts, history, education, financial literacy, health and wellness info, and more. Past African American Festival performers are Salt-N-Pepa, MC Lyte, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Kurtis Blow, and Chante Moore.

The lineup for the 2013 African American Festival includes R&B legend Patti LaBelle and American Idol season three winner Fantasia. Though the event is free to attend, there will be numerous vendors on hand selling food and beverages. The African American Festival lasts from noon until nightfall in Lots B and C of the M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.
