The Five Best Dance Clubs in Washington, DC

Jul 3, 2012 —  Everybody’s always talking donkeys and elephants in DC. Turn on the TV and some politician is blaming some other politician for something he did, didn’t do, should have done, could have done, might have thought, sort of said, plans to say, or for just generally existing in the first place.

It’s enough to drive anyone to drink. But we’d prefer to amp it up a notch and do a little dancing with our drink, which, thankfully, the array of clubs in DC makes very easy to do.

With such a big international crowd, it’s no wonder that some DC clubs are seemingly reserved for Saudi princes and heads of state. But that just gives us an excuse to throw on our fancy new duds, grab our prettiest friends, and head for the shimmering velvet ropes.

Or grab our ugliest ones…they make us look better and usually forgive us when we leave them outside.

Of course, not all clubs in DC are about dropping mad cash, and when we feel like letting loose to some of the top underground DJs out there it’s hardly a chore to track them down. Throw a dart on U Street, for example, and you’ll tag a great spot, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what DC clubs have to offer.

We picked out some of our favorites below. Will everybody agree that these are top spots?
