Anyone wondering what a tavern might have been like during the height of old Venice need look no further than Taverna del Campiello Remer, a unique vine-covered restaurant tucked away in a peaceful courtyard near the Rialto Bridge.

Despite its old-world environment and sophisticated clientele, the Taverna manages to exude warmth and maintain a low-key yet vivacious atmosphere – helped along, no doubt, by the gorgeous historical setting.

From its aged stone walls to its exposed brick, heavy timber, dripping candelabra, and antique furnishings, the restaurant provides a timeless and inspiring ambiance in which the well-dressed crowd can enjoy a cocktail around the impressive marble bar, a romantic meal serenaded by soft piano music, and plenty of animated conversation.

Warm, lively, and immensely welcoming, Taverna del Campiello Remer leaves patrons feeling like they’ve spent an evening among family and friends.
