Drinking at the Irish Pub in Rome.

Jun 13, 2012 — One of the great things about the Venice scene is its ease and accessibility. There is always a stir of action around town in the evenings, even if the nightlife seems slightly limited in the number of high-energy hangouts.
The popular bar culture remains unpretentious though, where the fun of casual barhopping from one quaint dive to the next attracts outgoing crowds that sometimes get rowdy in the squares.
Given the laid-back vibe in most of these bars, it’s pretty easy to meet people, especially among the students and travelers that frequent the pubs – and of course it’s worth mentioning that the sheer romance of the city is usually favorable to those chance encounters! Be aware, however, that the night will end earlier in Venice than in most cities.
