  • Rue de Rennes

Rue de Rennes - Outdoor Activity | Shopping Area in Paris.
Dec 7, 2012 The real Parisian experience "The rue de Rennes is great for shopping like the locals do: there's a wide variety of stores and you're bound to find one to your liking. Also, it is in one of the best neighborhoods in Paris; not far from this street is the very famous and high end Bon Marche mall and its gourmet food store. Furthermore, you'll find chic cafes, bistros, and patisseries at every corner. Lastly, the rue de Renne's major advantage is that it is more authentic and a lot less crowded than similar shopping locations like the Champs-Elysees." hide

Back Up - Club in Paris.
Dec 7, 2012 Go only there's a special event "The Back Up can be a good spot to party if there's a special event being organized there. There's a large dancefloor and bar, even a spot where people can smoke without having to go outside when the temperature drops. Otherwise, this club is not what it used to be. Expect long lines at the (expensive) coat check, a very young crowd and repetitive music. Furthermore, the bouncers can get easily annoyed so it's best to not grab their attention in any way: don't forget to bring ID." hide

Avenue des Champs-Élysées - Culture | Nightlife Area | Outdoor Activity | Shopping Area in Paris.
Dec 7, 2012 Much more worth it during Christmas time "The Champs-Elysees is like the Eiffel Tower: it's a Parisian institution you have to visit whether you really want to or not. Of course, it's mostly touristy, but locals do come to enjoy a movie or do some last-minute shopping during the weekend. While the stores range from your average American mall-type retail (Hilfiger, Banana Republic, H&M, Sephora) to more upscale French brand flagships (Cartier, Vuitton, Lancel), the most convenient aspect of these boutiques is that they're open even on Sundays (you will find it very hard to find stores open on Sundays anywhere else in Paris). But the best part of the Champs-Elysees is the transformation come sunset during the Christmas season: everything is lit up beautifully, especially the Place Franklin-Roosevelt, and the Christmas market stands lure you in with the delicious smell of sugary winter treats. It gets very crowded on Saturdays so plan accordingly! " hide
