Mar 4, 2013 A Legendary Jazz Club of Barcelona "The Barri Gotic has many golden places to visit, and the Harlem Jazz Club is definitely one of them. Found in a multitude of guide books and recommended by many, even if you don't think you like jazz, you will have one heck of a night here. With real Spanish atmosphere and fantastic music, it offers live bands, local talent, and a smokey but cozy ambiance. If you are tired of the techno music and sweaty clubs, this is a place to see. It gives you a truly authentic feeling with low entrance fees and fantastic musicians, starting at 10 pm. It has quite the mixed crowd, with friendly bartenders and an entirely bohemian feel. This is a great break from the normal bars, and promises satisfaction. Come with friends for a low-key evening, but be prepared to pay more than you usually do for drinks. This is a place where your dance moves may actually be judged much more than any typical club of Barcelona. Break out your hat, suspenders and oxfords, and pretend you're back in the 40's with a rum and coke and a beautiful lady by your side." hide

Razzmatazz - Club | Live Music Venue in Barcelona.
Mar 4, 2013 Make A Night to Remember in Barcelona "Obviously in coming to Barcelona, you have to look up the clubs and bars that get the most advertising and reviews, and Razzmatazz is one of them. A ridiculously huge, abandoned warehouse-style with open spaces, and bright lights, this is a club worth visiting at least once. While the line-up can put you off at first sight, as well as the cover, there is a great variety of music genres and you will most definitely meet a diverse amount of people as well-if you can hear yourselves speak in here. Hey, that's why we learn to talk with our hands! If you're not interested in bar hopping, this is a place to go, as it's a bit hard to get to. Drinks can be a bit pricey, so it's best to save this for one night only while visiting. Try the smoking lounge upstairs around midnight before it gets too busy, then make your way downstairs around 2 am when things start to get wild on the dance floors. The age range appears to be between 18 and 30, and once everyone gets dancing, the place fills up fast and it can truly be a fantastic night with your friends. Even if you get lost within the club, this is a place where you'll leave with a story or two. There are often live performances with famous artists, and as it's slightly off the grid, you have the chance to avoid massive amounts of tourists and party like a true Barcelona 20-something. Make sure you drink that red bull too, because you'll likely be up until dawn. Make this a last blast for your trip, wear comfortable dancing shoes, and grab some falafel after drinking the night away. This will likely be a night to remember. " hide

Mar 4, 2013 A Cozy Pub for English Comfort and New Friends "Admittedly, there are times while being abroad that English-speaking individuals just want a taste of home. The Black Horse Pub can provide this and more, as a great pub off the beaten path that isn't one of the blatant, tourist-y pubs that are advertised along Las Ramblas. As cozy and comfortable as a pub can get, it has great priced drinks and a friendly atmosphere. There is a great amount of diversity here too, with a variety of visitors from other countries and locals all sharing their stories around some pints. On a Friday night, its a convenient place to also make friends with fellow ex-pats and debate over who should have won that last football game. The staff are friendly and fun, and are willing to give you advice on must-see's in Barcelona and Spain itself. With four different rooms, darts, a Playstation system, an outdoor terrace for warm nights, and live music on Friday's, this pub is a must-see for both new visitors to Barcelona and those who want to give their traveler's wisdom to the newbies. Ideal to watch some football, drink a few pints, and make new friends at a place that feels like you're in England with the great social attitude of the Spanish. " hide
