Spitzer's Corner - Gastropub in New York.
Dec 6, 2012 Spitzer's Corner gets an A+ for everything in my book "When you live in LES, there are always millions of new spots to try whether its a dive bar, trendy sushi spot or fancy thai restaurant/bar. But I have to say Spitzer's Corner is definitely a win-win choice on all dining occasions. They have an amazing brunch menu and late night menu as well. I could never make it in time for Happy Hour, but I'm sure it's great. And because they have an amazing selection of beers on tap here, it's a great place for a date (if you want to impress that new guy), great to catch up with friends for dinner, or even late night to grab a bite before bar hopping in the area. Couldn't make it for dinner? Stop by for Spitzer's delicious brunch menu, the food is amazing and can help cure any hangover. The ambiance is cool, laid back and great for people watching. There's limited outdoor seating (weather permitting) but a huge back room for big parties. The crowds very depending on the night, but for the most part, if you want to get a spot to sit and have a meal, I'd recommend getting there earlier than later. Service is pretty good, but because of the bar's reputation for having a huge beer selection, you can expect the bar to be really crowded. I would definitely recommend Spitzer's Corner for group birthdays/parties, bringing your friends (visiting from out of town) for a good meal and a one of a kind beer, or just to have a nice low-key (but not boring) first date. • Madrone Art Bar

    San Francisco
Art Gallery / Bar / Club / Live Music Venue / Lounge
Madrone Art Bar - Art Gallery | Bar | Club | Live Music Venue | Lounge in San Francisco.
Dec 6, 2012 Madrone's Indie Night rocks my world! "When I heard about Indie Night from one of my best friends - I knew I had to check out Madrone. The inside is super cool and retro with a disco ball and black and white checkered wall decor. Think basement room from a Stanley Kubrick film meets 80's dance club. There are multiple screens, one main one in the back that they show a film on. Show posters and flyers are plastered all over the bathroom doors, so you can't miss those (not a fan that they are right next to the bar, but what can you do?) During the week they have gallery artwork up on the walls that is for sale. Also- random, but this is a very dog friendly bar, so during the week if you want to grab a drink and bring your pup - he's welcome to hang! The full bar is beautiful, stocked with loft-high shelves and 2 wall sized blackboards with a plethora of drink specials written out in chalk. I decided to go with a tasty Jack Kerouac inspired watermelon vodka delight. Drank 2, or 3, maybe 4? Can't remember the details but I went on Indie Night (usually on Saturdays) and danced for hours! It was so fun! The music was great and they even projected the music videos on the screen. I've been pretty MIA when it comes to music videos so it was really nostalgic to get to see videos for Icona Pop, Hot Chip and The Sounds. Overall, I'd recommend this bar if you like any of the following: - disco balls - strong drinks - dancing - people of all ages - fun! If you don't like any of those things, then you are missing out. I have no complaints about Madrone except the location of the bathrooms. I would keep in mind you should arrive early (like 10 at the latest) so you don't have to wait in a horrible line and the cover. " hide

  • 4100 Bar

    Bar / Lounge
People chilling outside the entrance of the 4100 Bar in Los Angeles.
Dec 6, 2012 Hipster Hot Spot- all day every day! "I love 4100. L-O-V-E! When I first moved to LA I wasn't sure I could handle living in the heart of West Hollywood (e.g. overload of glitz and gayville). I love my Hollywood starlet friends and my gay boys, but needed a spot that was chill, had good indie rock music and had good eye candy- in my case some straight candy. And Silver Lake's 4100 is the perfect spot for exactly what I needed. Two years later, I still find myself visiting this bar on a regular basis. The vibe is incredibly chill and you get a variety of people each time- it's never the same in this place. The bar is dimly lit which makes great for dates, or if you're out just to have fun, they have an amazing jukebox to choose tunes from. I've probably played the David Bowie and Spoon playlists a hundred times. Drinks are affordable (the Moscow Mules here are fabulous) bartenders are awesome, and the ambiance/crowd is always interesting. Got the late night munchies? No worries here, there's an awesome vendor who sets up shop after 10pm (forgot his name) that sells $5 hot dogs and bratwursts in the parking lot. Perfect! If there was an apartment above this bar, I'd move into it in a heartbeat. " hide
