  • Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall

    Los Angeles
    Concert Venue
Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall - Concert Venue in Los Angeles.
Nov 28, 2012 Mediocre at Best "Back in its day, the Shrine Auditorium (located right behind USC's campus) was fantastic. The Grammy Awards were held there at one point and it's featured in the film King Kong. However, the Shrine today is kind of grimey and like a dump; little to no cool concerts or shows come through there, except for Dayglow 2012 which was apparently fantastic, but all of my sources reported this while intoxicated so its hard to tell. Either way, I would not recommend going here unless you are getting paid to go or are literally forced. Your time would be better spent staying in that night than going to this venue." hide

  • LA Live

    Los Angeles
Concert Venue / Nightlife Area / Plaza / Theater
LA Live - Concert Venue | Nightlife Area | Plaza | Theater in Los Angeles.
Nov 28, 2012 Highly Recommend "LA Live is a great area; it is in a good location and additionally, if you are a USC student, campus cruiser will take you there, so transportation is not a problem. The Staples Center and the Nokia Theatre are also located here, which Lakers games are played at and many concerts and shows will come here. Additionally, there are many great restaurants of all price ranges, so if you are going to a big event like a game or a concert, you should definitely check out the eateries (especially recommend The Farm and Katsuya). During the holiday seasons its even better as the area is decorated and there is an outdoors ice rink. Highly recommend." hide

  • Rodeo Drive

    Los Angeles
Culture / Outdoor Activity / Shopping Area
Crowds of people enjoying (and spending all their money at) the shops on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
Nov 28, 2012 Tourist Attraction "Rodeo Drive is one of those attractions that aren't all that great, but if you are ever around the Los Angeles area in your lifetime, you need to see it at least once to be culturally literate, just because it is featured in movies and such. If you're actually looking to shop, it appeals to those who are interested in higher end boutiques and have more to spend (think Tiffany's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney's, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, etc.). Not good for anyone with a limited budget (college students like me!). Additionally, finding parking is very difficult (a frequent problem in Los Angeles.). However, if you're trying to celebrity watch you might be successful in this area." hide
