Nov 19, 2013 Oans, Zwoa, Drei! G'suffa! "No trip to Munich is complete without visiting the Hofbräuhaus. Located in the city centre, this famous beer hall is one of the oldest, historical breweries in Munich. The impressive building is bustling with table after table of patrons and features short bursts of live music from an Oompah style band. It can be quite a struggle to find a seat and you will most certainly find yourself shoulder to shoulder with strangers but everyone is keen to socialise and have a merry time. The staff are pleasant, impressively carrying many glasses at once making the service very quick considering the size of the establishment. All staff are adorned in traditional Bavarian dress which adds to the atmosphere. The food menu boasts traditional Bavarian cuisine, however the menu is quite limited and uninspiring. The real appeal of the Hofbräuhaus is the extensive choice of beers and the warm Bavarian ambiance. Although slightly more expensive than other beer halls, it is definitely worth it to experience a little bit of Bavarian history!" hide

Nov 19, 2013 Great atmosphere and decent prices! "Tijuana Café is a Mexican restaurant and bar located in the trendy neighbourhood of Schwabing! With extensive seating arrangements including an indoor restaurant and an outdoor terrace and bar, there is plenty of space to spread out. Fear not, the outdoor areas are equipped with plenty of outdoor patio heaters which can certainly beam out the heat to rid those winter chills. The decor emulates a Mexican oasis by incorporating palm trees and wooden huts. Although slightly tacky it all adds to the fun atmosphere! I have yet to try the food, but have heard great things about the variety of choice and value for money. The drinks menu also offers lots of options and happy hour makes all the cocktails a reasonable price. The only drawback was due to the busy crowd and slightly confusing layout, it was difficult to get our drinks quickly. It seems what is lacking in customer service is made up for with great drinks and a laid-back atmosphere. A little advice...get there earlier on a weekend or during happy hour as it never fails to draw in a busy crowd." hide
