  • Boba Bear

    Los Angeles
    Café / Hookah Bar
Boba Bear - Café | Hookah Bar in Los Angeles.
Jun 6, 2013 The Go-To Hookah Lounge "Boba Bear is pretty much the go-to hookah place in Los Angeles because it's one of the only places that's open late. It generally gets pretty crowded, but it's fun for large groups. The hookah is cheaper than other places, and you only need to buy a drink to hookah. However, they do offer small appetizers and crepes which go really great with hookah especially if you're one to get lightheaded. There's only one bathroom, and there are times when it can get pretty gross in there, so I recommend going to the bathroom before. What is frustrating about boba bear though is that it has two levels, and sometimes if you're in the upper level, the waiters will forget about you and you'll end up waiting for a bowl for over 10 minutes. They really should work out something like a ring service to make sure everyone's taken care of. The bowl's are delicious, definitely worth the extra few bucks to get a premium bowl. "Pleasure Chest" and the Peach Melon Mint are my favorites. " hide

Larchmont Bungalow - Restaurant | Café in Los Angeles.
Jun 6, 2013 Great ambience, great food "Larchmont Bungalow is a great little café to go to when you're out in the Larchmont district with friends. They serve a variety of gourmet brunch foods which range from red velvet pancakes to slow-roasted ribs. Any dish you try is going to be amazing so it's a great place to experience new foods; I personally am a fan of their garden burgers and strawberry pancakes. They also have a few dessert foods at the front if you're not looking for a whole meal. It has a great feel to it, a quaint family house setting with a fireplace and patio dining area. It does get a little crowded, because the tables can be too small for the plate, but it's just something you work around. It's a very cleverly low-maintenance restaurant because there isn't a need for waiters. Definitely a great place to eat and enjoy a nice sunday morning or afternoon." hide

  • Fogo de Chão

    Los Angeles
    Steak House
Fogo de Chão - Steak House in Los Angeles.
Jun 6, 2013 The Finest "Fogo de Chão is the ultimate in fine churrascarias. There are various churrascarias in Los Angeles that have the same dining concept, but when you've tasted the meat from Fogo, you'll understand why there's nowhere else that compares. Fogo de Chão takes the traditional brazilian steakhouse experience to a whole other level with its waiters in traditional cowboy attire, and the meats being seared in a protected fire pit in the corner of the dining room for all to see. Every meat is cooked to perfection, no burns, not too salty, and very filling. The waiters are very attentive to the red card green card concept, moreso than other churrascarias. Every meat is to die for and the side dishes that are offered are gourmet versions of traditional sides: mashed potatoes, palentas, and plantains to name a few. The salad bar has a very eclectic variety of foods that compliment the meat in such a beautiful way, and if you do happen to have a vegetarian among the group, they will most certainly get their fill from the variety of vegetables and cheeses that are available. Their drinks are amazing as well. They have a special frothy lemonade that is very light and helps to wash down all the meat that you'll be consuming, and their classic caipirinha is perfectly blended where you don't taste too much alcohol and you get more of the fresh ingredients that are put into the drink. Of course such excellent food will come at a high price. I recommend taking friends out to lunch since it's only 30-40 per person as opposed to 60-70 at night. Brazilian steakhouses are always a fun departure from the ordinary and will definitely keep you filled for the rest of the night." hide
