May 18, 2013 Rather unfortunate the A's still have to play here "Outdated is the kindest thing I can say about the Oakland Coliseum. Reason being, most of the faults that you find with this place are a result of the facility just being completely outdated and built to host two different sports. Whereas you have a ballpark directly across the bay in AT&T park that has all the ambiance and wonderful features that most of us have now come to expect from attending a sporting event, this place is complete with none of those. While in baseball mode, if you pay the extra coin to sit in the preferred seating behind either dugout, you find yourself looking out on a concrete pavilion. Stairs leading to nowhere, large fences that lead your eyes up to a tarped off upperdeck and a restaurant that is never used. The main concourse meanwhile, reminds you of walking down a medieval dungeon. It's dimly lit, cramped corridors and smells foul no matter the hour of the day. The food and drink quality is subpar at best and with so little vending options, the lines can be long on nights a decent crowd decides to show up. There's really nothing exciting or enjoyable about this place. So it certainly doesn't surprise me that during years when the A's and Raiders are struggling, most of the seats are vacant. " hide

AT&T Park - Concert Venue | Stadium in San Francisco.
May 18, 2013 Hard to beat AT&T park "Not necessarily one of the newer stadiums, as a number of ballparks have opened up since AT&T (or Pac Bell as it was originally titled) Park opened its doors, but certainly still remains one of the best. With its location right on the bay, it's hard to find a better setting for a stadium in all of America. The atmosphere is kept lively and captivating on a nightly basis with a little help from the wide array of ballpark features, food selections and colorful fans in addition to its one of kind setting. Even with the Giants playing good baseball these days, you can recline comfortably on an otherwise uncomfortable bleacher seat because of the wonderful ambiance that fills AT&T park. Baseball is meant to be played in stadiums like this. " hide

The White Horse - Historic Bar | Pub in London.
May 18, 2013 A great local pub, with a ton of heart "It's nice to know that there are pubs still around that can provide good food and service without charging an arm and a leg. This place does that and then some. Their pub food is excellent, they provide friendly service with a smile and allow you kick back and enjoy yourself in a comfy lounge sofa if you're lucky enough to find one available. I have found the White Horse to be an exciting spot whether it's a Tuesday afternoon or Saturday night. Quite often you will find the place filled with a younger, urban crowd enjoying a beer from their solid selection of brews or playing a game of pool. The vibe is kept super relaxed with reggae music constantly flowing through the room. You can easily find yourself losing track of the time as you settle into a cold drink and let the atmosphere envelop you." hide
