Founded in 1860 as a private social and athletic club in downtown San Francisco, the Olympic Club is the oldest of its kind in America.
The club boasts three golf courses - Lake, Ocean, and Cliffs - near the border of Daly City. All three courses have a lush backdrop - the Lake course boasts 40,000 trees alone - and all three venues feature views of Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge.
In 1884, James J. Corbett, the heavyweight-boxing champion from 1892 to 1897, joined the Olympic club and later went on to be boxing coach at the club for many years.
Other past notable events at the Olympic Club have included five U.S. Golf Opens: 1955, 1966, 1987, 1998, and 2012.
