Marin Center (San Rafael, CA) Concert Venue / Performing Arts Center

Marin Center, located in San Rafael, California, was built in 1960 and designed by the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. The special events and entertainment venue has become a renowned work of art in its own right and is recognized today as a National Historic Landmark.

The Marin Center grounds include an expansive park on which the Marin County Fair for local agriculture is held annually in July. Other events at the Marin Country Fair include antique and gem shows, farmers markets, and various art festivals.

Features of the Marin Center include the Marin Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium for theater, dance, and musical performances, and the Exhibit hall, which is often used for trade shows but can be rented out for private events and parties. The campus also houses the 315-seat Showcase Theater that functions as the site for lectures and business meetings.

The Marin Center was also featured in the film Gattaca and made an appearance in a Dr. Dre music video.
