The Golden State Warriors are a National Basketball Association (NBA) team that plays games at Oracle Arena. The stadium was built in 1966 and has a seating capacity of 19,596. The Warriors were originally founded as the Philadelphia Warriors in 1946 but moved to the Golden State in 1962 and were called the San Francisco Warriors. The team officially changed the name to its current incarnation in 1971 and now plays in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Warriors games are typically exciting affairs, though the team has had many ebbs and flows since its time on the west coast. Winners of multiple NBA championships, the Warriors have featured greats like Wilt Chamberlain, Chris Mullin, Rick Barry, Tim Hardaway, Baron Davis, and Nate Thurmond. Warriors tickets can be easy to come by during losing seasons, but if the team starts winning, it’s nearly impossible to find a seat.
