The 2013 Edwardian Ball SF Description

The Edwardian Ball SF - Costume Party | Party in San Francisco.

For two days in January, San Francisco transforms into a world straight from the twisted mind of iconic artist Edward Gorey with the annual Edwardian Ball. Held each year at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, the Edwardian Ball features a wide variety of music, entertainment, and events for Gorey fans.

The first day of the Edwardian Ball presents the Edwardian World’s Faire. This fair features bicycle-powered carnival rides, dance classes, a steam punk exhibition, and a live circus show. DJs like Delachaux and Vau de Vire Society spin through the night as the bustling crowd dances and explores the curiosities found in the Museum of Wonders.

The next day, the Edwardian Ball takes place, bringing to life a different Gorey story each year onstage. Past performances at the Edwardian Ball include Gorey’s classic The Doubtful Guest. From absinthe cocktails to the Vendor Bazaar, the Edwardian Ball features something sure to please any fan of Edward Gorey’s macabre stories and illustrations.

Tickets to the Edwardian World’s Faire cost about $30 per person or about $80 for VIP seats, which include two drinks and two Salon Dance Classes. Tickets to the Edwardian Ball cost about $45 each or about $90 for VIP access, two drinks, and two dance classes. After roaming around the ball, discover more things weird and wonderful at the shops nearby in Nob Hill.
