A two-day music festival that takes place on the manmade expanse of Treasure Island just off the San Francisco Bay Bridge, the Treasure Island Music Festival has been a popular and very diverse annual music event since it first debuted in 2007.
Normally held on the second weekend in October, the festival features several different acts over its run, with Treasure Island Music Festival performers playing primarily electronica, hip-hop, and rap during the first day and rock and indie rock during the second.
Two separate stages are set up during the Treasure Island Music Festival, but performances on both stages are staggered so audience members can check out every performer in attendance. Usually the main stage features a headliner, while the smaller second stage plays host to up-and-comers.
Past performers at the Treasure Island Music Festival have included Public Enemy, Thievery Corporation, Modest Mouse, Grizzly Bear, and many more. Because the Treasure Island Music Festival runs for several hours, often more than a dozen bands are featured each day.
Single-day tickets to the Treasure Island Music Festival are usually around $75, while two-day tickets range between $110 and $130, depending on how early you get them. VIP tickets are also available and cost $140–$240 for a one- or two-day pass, respectively. VIP tickets include access to a preferred viewing area next to main stage, access to a tented lounge and full bar, private restroom facilities, and access to special VIP food concessions.
Parking is fairly limited during the Treasure Island Music Festival, but parking passes are available until sold out. Parking passes are around $30/day. Organizers recommend Treasure Island Music Festival attendees take a free shuttle, however, which runs from AT&T Park’s lot to the Island during the festival.
The Treasure Island Music Festival takes place rain or shine, so anyone hoping to check out the show would be wise to also check out the weather forecast as well.
