Founded in 1999, the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival (SFEMF) is a five-night event that features performances and installations from both emerging as well as internationally renowned artists on the electronic scene.
Held in San Francisco during the first week of September, the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival normally includes four concerts at the Brava Theater Center in the Mission district, as well as an opening reception at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Past SFEMF performers have included sfSoundGroup, Guillermo Galindo & Jen Cohen, Daniel Steffey, WIlliam Basinski, Machine Shop, and Damion Romero.
The San Francisco Electronic Music Festival has presented works that span the sonic spectra, from ambient and rhythmic to atonal and melodic, providing a platform for artists of all stripes in the electronic music field.
Electronic-related discussion panels are also held during the SFEMF, so you can dance, ogle some art, and even learn some new details about the industry or meet the latest pioneers in the field.
Tickets to the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival are around $45 for a full festival pass and normally around $12–$16 for the individual concerts.
